Don't forget your roots

Sunglasses: DKNY
Coat: Ice
Snood: Cotton On
Dress: Stolen Girlfriends Club
Socks: Nom*d
Docs: Doc Martens

Took the doggies for a walk this evening, it's supposed to be a super moon tonight so the tide is high (but I'm holding on). There's nothing I love more than walking the dogs and going on adventures in the forest. I recently bought this Stolen Girlfriends Club dress from Contemporary Lounge and I LOVE it, it's also got long sleeves which is a plus ^.^ but sadly, no pockets, damn!!

My favourite thing to do u.u

I love taking the dogs for a walk. I just love being outdoors with the dogs and also it's a great way to exercise without realising you're exercising ^.~
It was the day before my 18th birthday!! My birthday was the 28th June (and was suuuuper awesome but I didn't take any photos or anything).
So my dad and I took our two dogs, Lucy and Scrappy, and my brother's dog, Sadie, for a walk to Burwood plantation and beach.

Even though I don't have any photos, I'll let you guys know how my 18th went hehe.
We started with dinner at Headless Mexican in Sumner. It's been a tradition for my family that when we turn 18 we would go to Club Bazaar which was a pizzaria in Sumner owned by my step uncle but that had to be demolished due to the earthquake so we went to the other restaurant that he owned so it kinda worked out haha but it was sooooo good, we just had a spread of everything so we could have a taste of everything on the menu, it was super fulling though, I pretty much couldn't walk by the end of it. After that we left my family and went on a pub crawl!! The first 3 pubs were good and involved drinking and playing the pokies (which were really boring but Tim won $100 so that was handy haha) and then the 4th pub was sooo busy I pretty much walked in, had a pee, then left. The 5th pub was more of a club so we had a bit of a dance until we felt uncomfortable and left. The next two pubs both had fees to get in so we weren't too keen on them so we went to the strip club instead (or as they call it, a Gentlemen's Club) AND IT WAS AMAZING! These girls had so much confidence and were amazing on the pole, like they were so strong it was insane! It was probably the highlight the day, well morning, it was around 1:30am when we got there hehe.
So that was my birthday, it was awesome!! I also got some really cool presents, including LOTR lego Tower of Orthanc and a much smaller but very good camera, since mine is about 4kgs and very, very old.

Thanks for checking in, and I'll try to post again soon!!
Lots of love n.n

How to deal with Urinary Tract Infections (Cystitis)

Today I'm going to write about a topic which needs to be talked about, how to deal with a UTI.

Disclaimer: This will probably be very tmi.

First things I will say, MEN, if any men are reading this, if you think you have an UTI, GO TO YOUR DOCTOR, UTIs in men are very rare and can be dangerous so don't hang about, go get checked out.

The reason I am writing about this is because UTIs for me are one of the worst infections you can get (pain wise).

Now symptoms of a UTI include:
- Always needing to pee, like you will get off the toilet and you will need to go again.
- When you do go to the toilet, you will only pee a few drops.
- Painful pee, especially near the end, you will find while peeing you will feel pain relief until the end, when you will get a sharp pain that sort of goes inwards.
- Very irritated bladder and urinary tract. Usually you can't feel your bladder or urinary tract but when you have an infection, it is all you can notice and it is super uncomfortable, I find it feels like there is glass inside you and when you pee the glass is cutting up your insides.
- Pink or red pee. This is because the lining is so irritated it begins to bleed.

An UTI is caused by e coli getting into your urinary tract, this happens if you 1) wipe from back to front after going to the toilet 2) having intercourse and even 3) wearing small underwear such as g-strings.

Ways to prevent an UTI:
- NEVER wipe from back to front, always go front to back.
- After having sex go to the toilet, yes it may be a pain but if you are prone to getting UTIs this is a MUST, for me if I don't go to the toilet after sex, I will always get a UTI.
- Drink cranberry juice, this is not a myth, seriously do this.

Now, if you do get a UTI you can treat it (ish) without going to the doctor. When you begin to notice the symptoms, start drinking a TONNE of water and I mean like 5 litres a day and you basically pee out the bacteria. Also drink cranberry juice and take cranberry pills, these can be found at a pharmacy over the counter, sometimes even supermarkets, they work like a charm.

If after a day or two it hasn't gone away go to your doctor to get antibiotics which will clear it up very quickly, you will also more than likely get a smear to check you don't have any STIs.

If you get pain in your lower back area it is crucial that you go to your doctor ASAP or even the hospital as it could be a kidney infection. This is why UTIs can be dangerous, if you don't treat it ASAP it will travel up to your kidneys and throughout your whole body, and trust me, you don't want that.

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about the pain, all I do is take painkillers and make a really hot hot water bottle as the burning feeling sort of distracts you from the pain of the infection.

I hope this helped some people, most women will experience a UTI sometime in their lives so having some knowledge on how to recognise and prevent them is important.

What does the fox say?

So Tim and I, well more like just me, have only just discovered that song. I once did a workout to it, link here, but apart from that, I had never listened to it and now, I'M OBSESSED LIKE THAT IS A REALLY AWESOME SONG DING DING DING DING!

Anyway, little 'what I've been doing this year' post, haha it's only been 5 days! But I'll go back to New Year's Eve.

I don't actually have many photos of what I did NYE, just a pic of my hair

Aimee decided she wanted to give me spikes, so I was a Stegosaurus, RAAAHH!

So Tim, Aimee, Danny and I all went to a friend of mine for a quiet NYE, including circle of death and all the associated fun times.

BUT ON THE 3RD OF JANUARY, we went to Orana Park, WHICH WAS AWESOME BECAUSE I HADN'T BEEN SINCE I WAS 3 AND I LOVE ANIMALS SO A TRIP TO THE ZOO WAS ACE!

I just clicked some random photos so sorry if some are terrible.

ALSO I GOT MY FACE PAINTED (sorry I get excited)

It's supposed to be a monkey

So overall it was an awesome day and really, really hot so that's even better!

That's all m'dears, love to all,
byeee xx

Spring Salutations

Good morning gentlebunnies and all! Or afternoon, evening, night, wherever you may be living. Here in good ol' New Zealand it's daylight saving time which is not fun so we lost an hour of sleep D: soo tired.

On Friday I bought this cute blouse from a thrift store, and I must say it is my BEST thrift store purchase yet. It was $10 and for the amount of money I had it was a little pricey but that's my fault because I haven't been working much but I'm so excited to wear it lots, I have heaps of ideas of how I could wear it!

Beanie - Glasses
Coat - Glasses
Blouse - Thrifted/Vintage
Skirt - Jay Jays
Tights - Glassons
Shoes - Hush Puppies

This is what I wore yesterday, just because I could really, we went to the mall to look at lego, which we somehow didn't buy, we're getting better at restraining ourselves, and we got milkshakes, yum yum, but my stomach did not agree. I really liked this outfit, I thought it was very chic and cute, but also quite mature at the same time. To be honest, I was sort of inspired by Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Tim and I love that programme!

Like I always say, hopefully I will post more often now, especially since I only have 3 weeks of high school left, EVER! How crazy!

Thanks for reading, au revoir xx

Aerosmith + Invercargill..

YO YO YO!

On Wednesday the 24th April I sat in a car for 4 hours driving down to Dunedin to see AEROSMITH!! (As most of you will already know because I totally told you in the post before). And today, I shall share that experience and my journey to the land of the rolling r's with you all...

I packed the night before and dumped it all onto Tim's floor because I'm a lovely person like that, as you can see Tim is very excited to leave!! >.< So we threw my mess into the car and begun our journey down south.
Timmeh with his serious driving face and then us being silly buggers.

So we drove and drove and drove and it started raining and raining and raining until we arrived in good ol' Dunedin where we walked to the venue from Sean's house - okay cool story about Sean, so basically Matt from Cyanide & Happiness stayed at his house and drew all over their coffee table so they have comics on their table, SOOOO COOOL!

We were totally soaked by the time we got to the venue but SOOOOO EXCITED LIKE WOAH MAN!!! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

So first up were Diva Demolition who were kinda average but y'know, it must be exciting to open for an act like Aerosmith, unfortunately all my photos of them turned out poo because I wasn't overly into it BUT I found this nugget of gold...

CROCS! CROCS AT A ROCK CONCERT!! Nailed it.

Then Head Like A Hole rocked on up and they were hilariously hilarious.

And then Dead Daises (they had a cute guitarist) but they were all kinda old..

AND THEN OMG WOLFMOTHER LIKE YEAH BUDDY I LOVE WOLFMOTHER SO MUCH AND THEY WERE AMAZINGLY AMAZING LIKE THEY BURNT INCENSE AND SOUNDED PERFECT AND ALL LOOKED INCREDIBLE CAN I TAKE THEM HOME WITH ME PLEASE??!

They opened with Dimension and closed with Joker and The Thief which was absolutely incredible!! I wish they never ended, they played an hour set which was wicked, better than most opening acts and they played two new songs which I am very excited for when they are released!!!

And then it was time for Aerosmith, I TOUCHED STEVE TYLER GUYS HE CAME OUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME I TOUCHED HIM!!

Steve Tyler has the biggest personality ever!! He is such an incredible performer, not sure how he is still alive because he is as old as buggery but boy was he incredible! He voice was like -melts- we even got the set list at the end too which is awesome!!! For the encore they pulled out the piano and played Dream On WHICH WAS AWESOME!! And I've totally had Cryin' stuck in my head since they played it..

After all the excitement we crashed on some couches before heading down to..

where I bought sooooooo much, like, wow, in so much debt right now but it was totally worth it

Tim looks happy to be home. We both bought awesome coats and caught up with all the family and I drove his car along the beach hehehe

I wish I could share all the photos and amazing vibes with you all but obviously that would take 150 years but I hope this post gave you an idea of how incredible it all was and I will definitely try to update more often!!

Rock on ^^
